In his Author's Note, Martel just happens to focus on the word "bamboozle" as the word that prepared him for "the rich, noisy, functioning madness of India" (vii) where he ended up hearing of Pi's story.
Why the word "bamboozle"? How does that one word speak to the novel's overall structure, meaning, etc.?
